Lesson 1
The anti-app
In this lesson, students are introduced to common features of applications (apps). They discuss how the design of an app might influence someone to stay on rather than log off. Students then create a pie chart to estimate and reflect on their own screentime. They are introduced to their challenge for the unit, to create an app that encourages users to do something that does not require a screen. Finally, students will use an activity sheet to plan a name, goal, icon, and lists of activities they will recommend with their apps.
