Lesson 3
Scene transitions
In this lesson, students are introduced to variables as containers that can be accessed and changed by a computer program. They will create a scene variable that is set and changed throughout the program when the Button sprite is clicked. They will discuss how reporter blocks in Scratch allow for them to assign a value to their variable. By the end of this lesson, students will have created a variable and programmed their project so the Text box sprite changes costumes when the Button sprite is clicked.
Learning objective
Students will progress through their story using a variable.
